Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Chrylser 300

Today on our 2013 Chrysler 300 we will be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56145. When we want to use the wiring we'll just take some out of the trunk like so so we can make our connection to the trailer. Make sure we avoid the latch here and close the trunk on over it. This will keep it secure and it'll be easy to use. When you're done towing your trailer you open the trunk back up, lift up on the spare tire cover panel and store your wires just like so and have full access to your trunk; you don't have to worry about snagging the wire on anything. Here's what comes in our wiring harness package. We have our control module here, which will prevent any voltage being back fed into the vehicle's wiring harness. more

Today on our 2012 Chrysler 300C, we're going to review and install the Curt T-Connector Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56145. Now with the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector already installed, let's go ahead and take a look at it. The 4-pole connector is going to store down with the spare tire. By storing it inside, it keeps it out of the inclement weather and prevents buildup of rust and corrosion over time. To use it, we'll simply take it out of the spare tire well and run it out over the threshold. Stay away from the latch, because pinching it off in the latch will damage the wire. However, the weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear trunk on it. Pull out the wire we need to run to our hitch or accessory, and then when we're done simply roll it up and store it back inside. more

These connections are made right behind the tail light. These two wires go down to the module here and when signal goes to the module here, it goes out to our four-pole flat. Also, our four-pole flat comes with a protective cover when you are not using it. Now our module is going to need to get power from a 12-volt power supply up-front. more

Today on our 2010 Chrysler 300 we're going to be installing the tow ready T1 vehicle harness with the four pull flat trailer connector its part number is 118406. Now when ready for use we'll just pull our four pull wire out, bring our cover down and over. Now when your using it pull out whatever length you need to make your connection and we'll let it rest right over the gasket. We want to avoid the latch section there, but then when you close it your gaskets going to hold that in place and give you a nice pig tail out here where you can use it. The cover over the top here can come in pretty handy, for getting this kind of tucked away we can use this as almost like a buckle or a strap for it. Get it all squeezed together real close and bring that around like that. Kind of keep it bundled up there nice little tuck in area there you wouldn't even have to tuck it in underneath. more

Today in our 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible, we will be installing the tow-ready, upgraded circuit-protector tail light converter hardware kit with four-pole end, including a tester, part number119178KIT.To begin with here, we're going to figure out whether we have a two-wire or three-wire system on this vehicle. We'll go ahead and run through the light functions and see which bulbs come on when we turn the running lights on, the blinkers, as well as the brake lights. As you can see here with the running lights on, we get the top two bulbs, which are red here, come on on both sides. When you step on the brakes, just the two inner bulbs towards the center of the trunk come on. When we turn each blinker on, it's actually a bulb down below that's part of the clear section. With running this simple test, this tells us that we have a three wire system, so we will be using the red wire on the converter box. We will be connecting this red wire to the brake light wire. Now, let's go ahead and open up the trunk, and we'll go ahead and figure out which wires do which on the back side. We'll begin here on the driver's side. The ports for the harness are located directly behind the tail lights on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. However the harness itself is going to be routed and stored inside the vehicle so we are going to start the install on the inside of the vehicle and remove some of the interior paneling. 00:31 more

Lastly we are going to take off this interior panel right here. Starting on our driver side, we will go ahead and disconnect here and install our T-connector. Simply push this red button out the way, press on the end, and it comes right apart. more
